Tubing: The BG2250-125 high-strength high-nickel-based alloy tubing has been successfully used for Sinopec Puguang Gas Field with the harshest conditions for gas extraction and production. Therefore, highly-acidic corrosive gas fields in China no longer need to import high-strength high-nickel-based tubing from abroad. Baosteel has thus become China's only manufacturer of nickel-based alloy tubings that covers the whole process from alloy smelting through tabulation to screw thread processing.; Achievements

Casing: Casings are steel pipes used for supporting sidewalls of oil and gas wells to ensure smooth operation during well drilling and after well completion. Depending on different drilling depths and geological conditions, each well needs to use several layers of casings, including conductor casing, surfacing casing, intermediate casing, and oil-string casing. Depending on different geological and well conditions, Baosteel can produce API standard production casings or customized casings such as high-strength, high-toughness casing, anti-collapse casing, anti-corrosion casing (such as carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide), air-tight casing (special thread), which have been widely used in various oil fields both home and abroad.; Achievements

Drill Pipe: The application of Baosteel's drill pipes to successfully drill the 8,023-meter Keshen Well No.7 in Tarim Oilfield marked a milestone in the history of locally-produced drill pipes. During the drilling process, the workforce encountered extremely complicated geological conditions, including gypsum-salt layers and high-pressure saline layers of immense thickness with bottomhole temperature over 180℃ and mud density up to 2.55 g/cm3. According to geological experts, such conditions were unprecedented and veritably world-class challenges. In response to the ultra-deep well with complicated conditions, Baosteel developed 127 mm NC52 non-standard drill pipes, 101.6 mm BGDS40 high torque drill pipes, 73.02 mm BGXT26 high torque drill pipes as well as new combinations of drilling tools to replace the commonly used API standard drilling tools. During more than two years, Baosteel's drill pipes were subjected to harsh conditions such as high stretch, high torque, high rotation speed, and high pump pressure, but no drill pipe failure ever occurred. Therefore, Baosteel created a new record in the history of ultra-deep well drilling with domestic drill pipes.; Achievements

HFW（ERW）Case 1: Baosteel HFW (ERW) welded casings and line pipes are widely used for oilfields as well as natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas and petroleum transmission pipeline projects home and abroad and provide various grades for different acidic conditions, such as X52MS for API 5L PSL2.; Achievements

Optimized Inner-Ribbed Tube: It is applicable for producing water walls for boilers used at power plants and is effective in removing steam blankets on inner walls of steel pipes and enhancing thermal efficiency of boiler walls. The cold drawing process enables inside walls of steel pipes to form interior screw ribs of special geometric dimensions. As for finished products, heat treatment with protective gas is adopted to ensure stable properties and good surface quality of steel pipes. Steel for Bridge Cable: Baosteel B87MnQL galvanized wire rods for bridge cable have been successfully used for Sutong Bridge, an important channel between Nantong and Suzhou. With the diameter of its main span at 1,088 meters, it had the largest span of the world's cable-stayed bridges at the time of its completion, reputed by the international bridge community as the "cable-stayed bridge representing the world's highest bridge building technologies". During the development of the steel wire, Baosteel was dedicated to overcoming technical challenges to constantly optimizing plasticity indicators, improve comprehensive performance of wire rods and make galvanized steel wires reach and even exceed the level of their international counterparts in terms of mechanical toughness, tensile strength, viscosity, purity, seismic performance and other important indicators. Baosteel produced over 6,500 tons of 1770MPa galvanized steel wires for Sutong Bridge, which were then made into 272 stay cables to constitute the "backbone" of the bridge.; Achievements

Mooring Chain Steel: Mooring chain steel is a key material used for marine engineering equipment building. It is used for producing offshore mooring chain cables to fasten marine engineering equipment. R5 mooring chain steel is currently the highest known grade, mainly used for project construction in deep-sea areas. Due to the harsh conditions of deep-sea areas, steel is required to have properties such as ultra-high strength, high toughness, and low yield ratio. The R5 mooring chain steel independently developed by Baosteel is used for supporting construction of deepwater semi-submersible drilling platforms. This product is the first of its kind in the world and has obtained a patent for invention. Baosteel R5 Mooring Chain Steel has been recognized American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) and other important organizations. Now, it has been successfully applied to CNOOC "981" 6th-Generation Deepwater Semi-Submersible Drilling Platform (maximum operating water depth at 3,000 meters), two deepwater drilling platforms in Russia and one drilling platform in Brazil.; Achievements

Spring Steel: As China's high-end spring steel wire rod production base, Baosteel produces wire rod products for manufacturing automotive suspension springs, clutch springs, brake springs, automobile and motorcycle valve springs. B55SiCr spring steel wire rods have been supplied in large quantities to clients such as China Spring, JYSF, NETUREN, Mubea, NUS and Liaoyang Kesuo. They have also been applied to car models such as VW, GM and Dongfeng Nissan.; Achievements

Cold Heading Steel: Baosteel produces carbon-steel cold heading steel series represented by SWRCH45K and low-alloy cold heading steel represented by SCM435, ML20MnTiB, and 10B21. Baosteel products are widely used in industries such as automobiles, bridges, electronics, equipment manufacturing and bicycles, and 80% of them are used for the automotive sector. The main partners include FAW-Volkswagen, Shanghai Volkswagen, Shanghai GM, Dongfeng Group, Chang'an Group, Dongfeng Nissan, and Beijing Hyundai. For high-grade car users, Baosteel exercises strict quality control process, and has launched better-quality B series of cold heading steel for automobiles. Baosteel has become Volkswagen's A-class supplier for its high-strength fasteners, and Baosteel products have been applied to car bodies, chassis and engine systems of German cars.; Achievements

Steel for Automobile Crankshaft: Baosteel is China's first steelmaker to develop and produce non-tempered steel for automotive crankshaft 49MnVS3, and it has further developed 48MnV non-tempered steel for automotive crankshaft with independent intellectual property rights. Non-tempered steel for automotive crankshaft can help downstream users to streamline production processes, save energy, eliminate quenching defects, improve the environment and greatly reduce production costs. Baosteel products have been supplied to crankshaft manufacturers such as Dongfeng and Tianrun Crankshaft, and have been successfully used for heavy-duty truck engines such as Commins.; Achievements

Steel Tire Cord: Wire rods are made into steel tire cords after wiredrawing and stranding. Steel tire cords are used for producing reinforced frameworks of radial steel wire tires which are wear-resistant, comfortable, safe and reliable. Currently, Baosteel steel tire cord products have been widely applied for making semisteel and all-steel radial tires such as car tires, heavy-load tires, and OTRs. Steel tire cords made of Baosteel steel cord wire rods have been widely applied to world-famous tire brands such as Michelin, Bridgestone, Goodyear, and Hankook.; Achievements

Die Steel: Die steel billets are applied in industries such as automobiles, home appliances, and IT. Based on BM35C-50C medium carbon steel, Baosteel has developed B-series pre-hardened plastic die steel and international-standard P20 and 718 with independent intellectual property rights. Major users of Baosteel die steel billets include Heyuan Lung Kee, Taizhou Liyuan, and Huangyan Yueri.; Achievements

Seamless Line Pipe: For Nanhai Liwan Deepwater Pipeline Project, Baosteel supplied seamless line pipes of 4 "and 6", DNV450 Baosteel 6" subsea pipes. Baosteel products have excellent pipe-end dimensional accuracy and weldability, suitable for the current automatic welding process. Therefore, it's convenient for pipelaying. 4 kilometers of pipes were laid per day, which was 30% faster than conventional pipelay of 2 to 3 kilometers per day. The construction conformity rate reached 99%, 2% up as compared with the conventional figure of 97%. For this project, Baosteel supplied a total of 84 kilometers of 6" seamless line pipes. Therefore,the high efficiency attributes to shorten pipe lay by seven days. Suppose that the daily cost of the 201 pipe-laying ship is $0.5 million dollars, a total of $3.5 million dollars is saved, equivalent to RMB 21.42 million and accounting for 1/3 of the total cost of the products.; Achievements

Tubes for Automobile: Baosteel precision tubes for automobile are mainly used for automotive transmission systems. With two varieties of pipes used for holders of constant velocity joints and transmission shafts, its products account for 50% share of the PV market in China and are supplied to Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, SAIC, FAW , General Motors, Toyota, and other automakers, covering American, European, Japanese and Chinese car series. Baosteel sells 15,000 tons of seamless precision steel tubes per year.; Achievements
