Production Equipment
By the second half of 2004, Baosteel had generally completed its laboratory research and development regarding the grain-oriented silicon steel product and technology. According to the laboratory’s R&D results and its experience in manufacturing quality carbon steel, Baosteel identified the basic process requirements and equipment function requirements for production lines of grain-oriented silicon steel and started to work on the design of the simulated production line. On such basis, it further completed the basic design of production lines and was equipped with the requisites for independent integration of silicon steel production lines. During the process of negotiations on the equipment and technology for the production lines, Baosteel, based on specific conditions of equipment capacities and allocation, conducted a special validation test on key process parameters to ensure that the production line design can meet the process requirements and reduce technical risks.
In 2008, all the major process lines, such as the normalizing and pickling line, the reversable mill line, the grain-oriented silicon steel decarbonizing and annealing line, the high-temperature annealing line and the hot stretching and leveling line, all featured by Baosteel’s independently-developed technologies, were successfully put into operation. Each production line is designed to meet the basic product process needs.
