DR Tinplates in Replacement of SR Tinplates

Compared with SR tinplates, DR tinplates have better hardness, higher yield strength and smaller thickness, thus suitable for meeting users' goal for thickness decrease and cost reduction.

Through technological support in providing forming processes and mould design, Baosteel has been able to supply DR tinplates to Want Want for producing 145mL cans and received an aggregate order of around 8,000 tons. Besides, Baosteel's pilot production for 245mL cans has been a success. In July, Baosteel successfully completed trial production of one ton of products, and will continue to increase its trial production quantity.
